A delegation comprising Simhavauhini Mahankali temple managing committee members and local people on Monday thanked the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen for seeking funds from the state government for the shrine's renovation.
The delegation met AIMIM general secretary Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri at the party headquarters here and thanked AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for "representing Mahankali temple development issue to the government," a party statement said.
Akbaruddin Owaisi on Sunday requested the Telangana government to allot funds for renovation of the temple and a mosque in the city, to which Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had responded positively.
