Tension in Har village after group clash over sports stadium

Tension prevailed in Tigara village of Haryana's Yamunanagar district today following a clash between members of two communities over the construction of a sports stadium, prompting the authorities to deploy heavy security in the area.
Members of one group torched vehicles parked outside the houses of the other in the village last night, police said, adding, eight fire brigade teams had to be rushed in as several immovable properties were also set ablaze.
An attempt to attack a religious place was also made, but was foiled by the other community.
"Despite reaching a compromise on Saturday over the construction of the stadium, both (groups) indulged in arson last night," a police official said.

Heavy police force has been deployed in the village and the situation is now under control.
For last one year, the two communities have been at loggerheads over the construction of the stadium with one group claiming that it will take away their land.
