Tenth batch of 2,422 pilgrims leave for Amarnath yatra

The tenth batch comprising 2,422 pilgrims today left from the base camp here to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir Himalayas amid tight security.
The batch, with 1,691 men, 540 women, 44 children and 147 sadhus, left in a cavalcade of 68 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp here at 05:00 AM, a police official said.
The convoy for the yatra has already reached Kud at 10 AM on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
With today's batch, as many as 19,909 pilgrims have so far left from Jammu base camp for Amarnath shrine.
