Speculations were rife in the university circle that Bajpai will get another term.
The Students Central Association (SCA) of the university, spearheading the agitation for ouster of the Vice chancellor, had assailed the move and reiterated the demand for his immediate removal.
The SCA also organised a demonstration and threatened to further intensify its agitation if the demand for removal of the VC is not accepted.
