The government has launched a new electronic pilot system which will help retired central government employees track their pension details by way of SMS and email communication.
The web-based pension sanction and payment tracking system, once operationalised, will be called 'Bhavishya' and has been launched on a trial basis by the pension and pensioners welfare wing of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
"The new proposed system will capture information relating to the pensioner's personal and service data including contact details like mobile number and e-mail among others. It will also have electronic forms required to be submitted to pension sanctioning authority.
"The system will keep retiring employees informed of the progress of pension sanction process through SMS or email in future. The application will help in monitoring the delays which take place in sanction of pension and retirement benefits to a retiring government servant," the Ministry said in a statement.
The project has been launched in fifteen central ministries and departments like Home, Electronics and Information Technology, Statistics and Programme Implementation, Steel, Health and Family Welfare, Ayush, Urban Development, Textiles, Commerce, Industrial Policy and Promotion, Planning Commission, Personnel and Training, Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and Pension and Pensioners Welfare.
