The app -- 'Star Guide' -- was launched by Thane guardian minister Eknath Shinde and has been developed by TMC.
Citizens report on the potholes to the civic body after which the officials concerned would take necessary action to rectify them. This app is a part of the Smart city initiative, a TMC official said.
The app would be extended to other public amenities which need civic attention and corrective measures later, he said, adding it would be introduced in Marathi in the future.
Also present at the function were Deputy Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council Vasant Davkhare, mayor Sanjay More and municipal commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal.
