Ashvani Ashok Raut, the village official, accepted the bribe at Vangaon railway station this afternoon and handed it over to the recovery clerk of Asangaon gram panchayat Nitesh Kamlakar Parad, said ACB sources.
They had demanded Rs 6,000 for allowing a truck loaded with ash belonging to Reliance Energy to pass through the limits of the Asangaon village in Dahanu tehsil of Palghar district.
The transporter approached the ACB which set a trap and arrested the duo red-handed.
Both have been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
