A case was filed in a local court against the accused Iftakhar for stealing a transformer in 2007. But he didn't appear in court for years.

In 2010, local police officials informed that Iftakhar was dead, resulting in withdrawal of the case against him.

The accused, who was apprehended on September 15, was produced in court today, and has been sent to jail.

Meanwhile, the local court has directed to lodge a case against police constable Ikramulhak and a village head for providing false information about the death of the accused to the court.
