Karunakar, a native of Singatam village in Gajwel mandal, was convicted in a theft case and was imprisoned at Cherlapally Central jail in Hyderabad in 2015 later in 2016 he was shifted to district jail Kandi, Santosh Kumar Roy, superintendent of the district jail, said.
He added, "Today morning he consumed Phenyl and committed suicide, inmates informed the jail authorities after which he was shifted to district hospital immediately and died during the treatment.
