A thick blanket of fog enveloped several places in Haryana and Punjab this morning, disrupting road and rail traffic in the region.
The minimum temperatures hovered well above normal limits at most places in the northern plains.
According to the MeT Department here, fog reduced visibility at several places including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal and Panipat.
Visibility was reduced due to foggy weather in Chandigarh as well.
Movement of vehicular traffic was also affected at many places in the two states due to fog while several trains were reported running late due to reduced visibility caused by the foggy weather.
Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 9.6 deg C, three notches above normal limits.
Ambala recorded a low of 10.3 deg C, up three notches against normal. Karnal recorded a low of 9.5 deg C, one notch above normal limits.
