"They (those who call bandhs) should be taught a lesson so that they don't get an opportunity to call a bandh second time," the MLA from Bhatar in Burdwan district said at a party meeting yesterday.
"If required they should be given a bashing," said Hazra, whose comment has gone viral on TV channels here.
Later, he told a news channel that TMC is against bandhs and referring to the Left, he said, "they have destroyed the work culture in the state during their prolonged rule. We want to move forward by ushering in development."
