The LDF candidate polled 46 votes against UDF's P M Suresh Babu and N Satheesh Kumar of BJP who got 19 and six votes respectively.
District Collector N Prasanth, who was the returning officer, declared Raveendran as elected.
The swearing-in ceremony was also held today.
Raveendran, who was elected from Chakkarothukulam ward in the November 2015 mayoral polls, earlier held the post of mayor between 2000 and 2005.
In the 75 member corporation, 71 councillors cast their votes. Four members, including V K C Mammed Koya, who has been elected to the state assembly from Beypore segment in the just concluded polls, did not vote.
JD (U) is alliance partner of UDF while NCP is part of LDF.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena nominee Hemangi Worlikar romped
home as the deputy Mayor of BMC.
In the election, 218 corporators out of total 227 voted.
Worlikar bagged 166 votes whereas her opponent and the Congress nominee Vinfred D'souza got just 31. Of remaining 30 votes, five votes were found to be invalid. While 16 corporators remained neutral, eight were absent whereas a AIMIM member abstained though he was present in the city hall.
