Three arrested for carrying arms

Three persons were arrested today for carrying arms and ammunition in a car with press sticker on it at Muratipur in Burdwan district, the police said.
"Debasish Majhi and Prasanta Roy, residents of Bankura, and Suman Majhi of Boronilpur in Burdwan town were arrested after they were found to carry the arms and ammunition," Superintendent of Police SMH Meerza said.
Acting on a tip-off, the car was stopped at a checkpoint at about 1 pm.
On search two pipeguns loaded with two bullets, two daggers, one hansua, two small iron rods, some coins of Nepal, jewellery were found from the car, he said.

They also collected money from sand loaded trucks and other vehicles, he said.
