Three arrested for smuggling cattle
Press Trust of India Muzaffarnagar Three persons were arrested for allegedly smuggling cattle for slaughter in Shahpur area of the district, police said today.
Carcasses of 16 cattle were recovered from a truck at Harsoli village yesterday.
Cattle had died of suffocation, said Naresh Yadav, in-charge of Harsoli police post.
The accused were identified as Upender Singh, Kulwant and Asif, he said, adding theywere allegedly smuggling the cattle from Punjab.
