Three local youth Congress leaders were killed and two others injured when their car fell into a gorge in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Dalip Kumar Mehta (39), Khem Singh Verma (43) and Dola Ram (34) of Karsog, Superintendent of Police Gurdev Sharma said.
The accident occurred at the Batharnala area near Sorta village in the district, he said.
Sharma told PTI that a police team reached the spot after getting information of the accident and rescued the two injured.
One of them was Tilak Raj (27) of Karsog, while the second injured has yet not been identified, he added.
They have been admitted to Karsog Civil Hospital, the SP said.
Meanwhile, Himachal Congress president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed grief over the death of the youth leaders.
