Three drug peddlers arrested in Pulwama

Three alleged drug peddlers including a woman were today arrested after 24 grams of brown sugar were seized from their possession in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.
Altaf Hussain Najar, Junaid Ahmad Sheikh and Haleema were arrested by a vehicle checking squad of police at Kadlabal in Pampore, 16 kms from here, on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, a police spokesman said today.
He said police had laid a 'naka' (checkpost) in the area on specific information about possible movement of drug peddlers through the highway township.
The checking squad intercepted a car and arrested the trio, all residents of Fateh Kadal and Khankahi Moulla localities of interior Srinagar, the spokesman said.
"All the three peddlers were booked under section 8/20 of NDPS Act," he said.
