Three criminals, each carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 on their head, were injured and arrested here after gunfight with police in as many separate incidents, a senior official said on Sunday.
A team of Sihani Gate Police Station during its routine checking signalled two bike-borne suspects to stop in the early hours of Sunday. The suspects, instead, fired at the team but one of them suffered injury in the retaliatory police firing, Senior Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar Singh said.
He said the injured criminal was identified as Chand, a resident of Dadri town in Gautam Budh Nagar district.
The SSP said Chand's accomplice managed to flee the spot.
One country-made pistol, one used and one live cartridge and the bike used in commission of crime has been recovered from Chand's possession, Singh said.
After a gunfight at around 10 pm on Saturday, a team of Masuri town police station arrested a criminal, Shamshuddin, police said, adding he was shot in the leg.
On Saturday, at around 11 pm, one more criminal was injured and arrested after gunfight at Chipiyana railway crossing with a team of Kotwali police station, the SSP said.
The criminal was identified as Sonu alias Pintoo of Jaanivillage in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district.His accomplice fled the spot.

All the three injured criminals would be sent to jail after treatment, theSSP said.
