Around 6 kg opium was seized from three persons from a Kolkata-bound train at Guwahati railway station, Government Railway Police (GRP) said Wednesday.
At 9.30 pm on Tuesday, the GRP team apprehended the three persons from Indrani Express and recovered the suspected opium in Guwahati railway station, GRP sources said.
The three persons during interrogation admitted that they had boarded the train at Dimapur for proceeding to Malda in West Bengal, the sources said.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 has been registered against the three persons.
