Three held with narcotics, intoxicant syrup bottles in Jammu

Three persons were arrested today in two separate incidents for possessing heroin and bottles of intoxicant syrup here, police said.
In the first incident, Mohammed Saleem, a resident of Doda district, was spotted moving suspiciously in Nai Basti area during a surprise check. When asked to stop, he tried to flee but was apprehended, a police official said.
Saleem was later searched and 10 grams of heroin was seized from his possession, he said.
In the second incident two men identified as, Mohammed Shakeel and Parshotam Singh were arrested from Shastri Nagar Chowk and 140 bottled of intoxicant syrup were seized, the official said.

He said all the three accused were booked under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and investigations are underway.
