Acting on tip off, NCB sleuths of Chandigarh Zonal Unit, nabbed both the accused near the main gate of Patiala bus stand and allegedly seized the opium which was hidden in a steel tiffin, officials said.
The accused were identified as Narayan Singh (45), a resident of Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, and Kalu Rao (52), a resident of Jhalawar in Rajasthan, officials said.
Narayan was the main supplier while Kalu was a carrier, NCB officials said.
Officials said the seized opium was diverted from Rajasthan or Madhya Pradesh.
