Three mine workers were killed and four others trapped after a coal and gas outburst at a colliery in southwest China today.
The accident occurred when 50 miners were working underground at Huangshuiba Coal Mine in Yumo Township of Jinsha County in Guizhou Province, local officials said.
Forty-five workers were lifted out.
However, two of them died after emergency treatment failed, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
Rescuers found one body underground while four others remain missing.
The cause of the accident is under investigation and rescue work is on, the report said.
