A special POCSO court today sentenced three men to 20 years in jail for the gangrape of a 16-year-old girl at Kheralu here a year ago.
Special judge B S Kala sentenced Sanjaygiri Goswami, Jayantiji Thakor and Nagji Vaghari to 20 years in jail and fined them Rs 17,000 each.
The court also ordered that the convicts would undergo an additional two years in jail if they failed to pay the fine.
A case of gangrape was filed by the victim against the three men at the Kheralu police station around a year back.
The three men were arrested the next day, the police said.
While awarding the sentence, the court relied upon the victim's statements given before a doctor and a magistrate as preliminary evidence. It also considered the DNA test reports that were submitted.
