Three migrant labourers, hailing from UP and Bihar, died of electrocution in the new Punjabi colony of Basti Jodhewal here today, Additional DCP Surinder Lamba said.
Lamba said a high tension electric cable was passing close to the first floor of a house where the labourers were engaged in some repair work.
"All of a sudden one of them was electrocuted and the other two in a bid to save him also suffered electrocution and died on the spot," he said.
Lamba said the police had registered a case under relevant provisions in connection with the incident.
The victims were identified as Satranjan (31), Rakesh (34) and Mukesh (32). Mukesh and Satranjan belonged to Uttar Pradesh and Rakesh was from Bihar, he said.
