Reacting to the incident, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee President Sachin Pilot said, "There is no rule of law in the state to protect people, especially a Dalit. This is not an isolated incident. These are happening with the Dalits everyday."
He said, "This is unacceptable if a society has this kind of a mindset. The government's attitude towards Dalits is absolutely condemnable. It is unfortunate that Rajasthan ranks second in terms of Dalit atrocities."
State Women and Child Development Minister Anita Badhel said strict action will be taken against those involved in the attack.
"I will speak to the administration about why the villagers did this. Strict action will be taken against those who are involved because they attacked children aged 10-15 years," she said.
Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Chairperson Manan Chaturvedi said a report has been sought from the Superintendent of Police (SP) in the matter.
"We have spoken to the SP. We have sought a report. We are forming a committee which will investigate the matter. Strict action will be taken against those involved... The incident could have been avoided," Chaturvedi said.
