Nawab Ali, Iklash and Nadeem were arrested last night from the IP extension area, where they were "standing in a suspicious condition", by a night patrolling team, East District Police said here today.
On being asked to show identity cards, Nawab Ali, one of the accused, flashed a Delhi Police I-Card issued in Head Constable Sayeed Akhtar's name.
"Out of suspicion when police asked him about his Personal Information System (PIS) number he had no clue about it, and following verification the card turned out be fake," a police officer said.
"On sustained interrogation Nawab disclosed that he prepared the fake I-Card after scanning the I-Card of his brother-in-law. He was using this I-Card for hassle free movement in Delhi/NCR area," the officer said.
Police has registered a case of forgery and impersonating as government servant against the three accused at Madhu Vihar Police Station.
