Three persons held with liquor in UP

Three persons were arrested and a cache of illicit Indian-made foreign liquor seized from their possession in Sahibabad area here, police said today.
During a routine checking last night, a police party signaled a speeding car to stop near Mohan Nagar police post, Station House Officer of Sahibabad police station, Haridayal Singh Yadav said.
Instead of halting, driver sped away following which the car was apprehended after a chase near Arthala village U-turn, Yadav said.
336 quarters and 144 half liquor bottles which were being smuggled from Haryana were recovered from the vehicle and three persons travelling in the car were arrested, he said.

They have been identified as Manish, Tarun and Naresh, all residents of Modinagar, he said.
They have been sent to jail and the vehicle has been impounded, SHO added.
