The incident occurred in Dera Ismail Khan district bordering South Waziristan agency.
The bomb was planted on the roadside and went off when a military vehicle was passing. Three security personnel were injured, a security official said, adding that the vehicle was completely destroyed in the blast.
At least three security men and one another person were injured when a roadside bomb went off near a military vehicle on the Kulachi Road, officials said.
A search operation was launched in the surrounding areas following the incident.
Last month, two soldiers of paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) were killed and four sustained serious injuries when their vehicle hit a landmine in District Sibi of restive Balochistan.
