Three vehicle thieves nabbed after exchange of fire with cops

Three alleged vehicle thieves were arrested here after an encounter with the police.
The operation was carried out by Loni Border Police.
Police said last night a police team was patrolling the area when it saw three suspicious youths on a bike near Bahta Hajipur railway station.
When the police team asked the youths to stop, they turned around and tried to flee. When policemen chased them, they fired on the cops, they said.
The police also fired back at the three and nabbed them.
Two pistols and a knife were recovered from them.
The bike that they were riding was also found to be stolen, they said.

The accused have been identified as Rajiv, Mohit and Vijay, police added.
