Three youths, including two women, committed suicide in separate incidents in and around Phagwara, police said today.
A 25-year-old man, Charanjit Kumar of village Bhabiana, ended his life last night by allegedly consuming Celphos tablets, according to Investigating Officer(IO) Assistant Sub-Inspector(ASI) Kabul Singh.
Kumar worked in Phagwara and was depressed, said the IO. The body was sent to civil hospital for post-mortem examination, he said. A case under section 174 Cr Pc was registered in this connection, he said.
In the second incident, a 28-year-old woman Kajal allegedly hanged herself to death in her house at local Peeparangi last night, police said. The cause of suicide could not be known, they said.
Her body was sent for postmortem examination, they said.
In a third incident, an unidentified woman committed suicide by jumping before Akal Takht Express near Chaheru Bein rivulet bridge, 10 kms from here last night.
GRP incharge Gurbhej Singh said that the woman appeared to be in early thirties.
The body will be kept in mortuary of civil hospital for 72 hours for identification, said the GRP official.
