High speed wind was experienced in Patna and other parts of Bihar this afternoon which was followed by rain.
Director State Meteorological Department A K Sen told PTI the thunder squall and rain was due to due to cyclonic circulation arising from Bay of Bengal formed near Jharkhand.
He said an alert has been sent to the state government about thunder squall and moderate rainfall in almost half of the districts of Bihar till April 30.
High speed wind and rains were experienced in major parts of Bihar including East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga and elsewhere.
In capital Patna weather the weather turned cloudy in the afternoon and rain followed by high speed wind started around 1 PM.
Due to inclement weather Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's programme to Raxual has been rescheduled and now he would go there on Indo-Nepal border by road instead of helicopter, Chief Minister's Office said.
Kumar is scheduled to visit camps at Raxual and hold meeting with officials to take stock of relief work at Raxaul where maximum number of people stranded in Pokhra and other parts of Nepal are arriving, District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) East Champaran district Madhusudan Prasad told PTI.
