The incident came to light yesterday when an under trial inmate, Sirazuddin, 38, was found hanging in the toilet of ward 1 in jail number 8-9 of Tihar, jail sources said.
"Around 3:15 pm yesterday, it was brought to the notice of the jail authorities by the fellow inmates of the victim that he has hung himself in the jail toilet. Inquest proceedings are being conducted into the matter", he said.
Sirazuddin was sent to Tihar in March this year and was facing trial in two cases against him. He was scheduled to be produced in a court in Binour regarding one of the cases.
