: The Telangana government's eye screening programme Kanti Velugu would be launched on August 15, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said here today.
It would be launched simultaneously at 799 places all over the state that day, a release from the Chief Minister's office said.
Rao would inaugurate the programme in Gajwel assembly constituency, it said, adding that he instructed that a public representative should participate in the launch event at each centre.
The necessary staff, equipment, medicines, spectacles and other material required for eye screening should reach the villages well in advance, Rao said.
The scheme proposes eye screening for all citizens in the state.
