The Trinomool Congress is on a hunger strike in Darjeeling to press for some demands of tea workers.
The Darjeeling Zilla Tea Employees and Workers' Union, backed by TMC, this evening said the fast will take place in the Upper club side adjacent to Caventer near Mall area of the hill town.
The TMC alleged workers in the Pussimbing tea garden were being forced to work more than eight hours a day and were being denied paid holidays if it fell on Sunday.
The union further charged that the management stopped the practice of giving three days off to labourers for constructing toilets.
