Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said following the Centre hiking DA by six per cent, her government was giving a similar increase, which would benefit 18 lakh government employees and pensioners.
While employees would get revised amounts ranging between Rs 366 and Rs 4620, it will be between Rs 183 and Rs 2310 for pensioners, she said in a statement.
The hike will be calculated with effect from July 1, 2015 and disbursed in cash, she said, adding, the increase will result in an additional sum of Rs 1501.24 crore annually on the state exchequer.
