"The software export from Tamil Nadu is growing steadily and is expected to touch Rs one lakh crore by the end of 2016-17.
The state government has promoted IT parks in Tier II cities and during the current year an additional IT park in Sholinganallur will be set up," Finance Minister D Jayakumar said while presenting the budget in the Assembly today.
The government has also planned to establish a start-up warehouse in Coimbatore, similar to the one functioning in Chennai, he said adding an initiative has been taken to set up an electronic hardware industry hub at Sriperambudur near Chennai with the support of the Centre.
