Stating that he can never settle in Mumbai, 'Ichhemotir Gappo' lead actor Saswata Chatterjee says he has no regrets for turning down many Bollywood offers.
"As I get to do many challenging roles, including that of an old era romanticist in Ichhemotir Gappo, I need not unsettle myself from my comfort zone, "Saswata, having earned nationwide acclaim for his role in Kahaani, said.
Coming to Ichhemotir Gappo,, he said "My character is a writer-RJ-chronicler of events who is also part of the stories. It is a cross between real and unreal."
"There is a hint and trace of romance of yesteryears, and the concept and the way it is integrated to my character is unique," he said.
Saswata, who turns up on screen opposite Tanushree Chakroborty for the first time, said, "I think Tollygunje industry is now offering me a variety of roles. The audience now wants varied contents."
'Uro Chithi' actor Tanusree, a trained Bharatnatyam dancer before taking plunge into acting, said she did not even take time to blink as the director trio Adinath Das, Atanu Hazra and Kaushik Sengupta approached her to play Ichhe, a dance troupe lead performer.
"But portraying a traumatised girl seemed more unnerving as I thought it was next to getting into an asylum," Tanusree quipped about one layer of her complex character in the wake of losing the all important person of her life.
Actor and last year's Bangla Big Boss entrant Koneenica Banerjee said "I am part of the journey of the river-woman Ichhemoti."
The Chotuskone actor, who is also turning up in an upcoming film by Moinak Bhowmik, said she was looking for more substantial roles but it was the call of directors.
