In his acceptance speech at the 22nd Critics' Choice Awards the 40-year-old star, who won the best actor in a comedy for "Deadpool", gave a shoutout to Hanks, reported Entertainment Weekly.
"I was not expecting this. I've prepared nothing. So, I'm just going to focus on Tom Hanks," Reynolds joked during his acceptance speech.
"No really, though, You're a huge influence on me. My two-year-old daughter, the first full sentence she ever said was, 'There's no crying in baseball.' I'm not kidding," he continued.
Reynolds went on to thank screenwriters, whom he called "the architects."
