Senior IAS officer Tom Jose was today appointed as the new Chief Secretary by the Kerala government.
He was appointed in place of Paul Antony, who will retire on June 30.
Jose is currently the Additional Chief Secretary of Labour and Skills Excise and Water Resources Department.
The cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, took this decision.
The cabinet also effected a minor reshuffle of IAS officers by posting Asha Thomas as Additional Chief Secretary in the Labour and Skills Excise Department, an official release said.
Information and Public Relation Department secretary P Venugopal and Industries secretary Sanjay M Kaul were given additional charge of tax and Power departments respectively.
Food Secretary Mini Antony was given additional charge of Co-operation, the release said.
