Traffic restrictions in Delhi on International Yoga Day

Traffic restrictions will be imposed in parts of the national capital in view of the celebrations to be held at the Rajpath to mark the International Yoga Day on June 21.
The function organised by Ministry of AYUSH will be held at the ceremonial boulevard between Rafi Marg and C-Hexagon, at 7 pm.
The area bounded by Mother Teresa Crescent - Baba Kharak Singh Marg - Outer Circle Connaught Place Between Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Barakhamba Road - Bhagwan Dass Marg- Mathura Road - Lodhi Road - Aurbindo Chowk - Safdarganj Road - Kamaal Ata Turk Marg - Kautilya Marg - Sardar Patel Marg upto 11 Murti will be restricted for public.
The roads will remain open to public and the inside area bounded by these roads, towards India Gate will be restricted, said, Sandeep Goel, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic).
The entry to the function will be through invitation only, he said.
Only the labelled vehicles of the invitees and vehicles of bona fide residents of these areas will be permitted to enter from 0200 hours till conclusion of the function at about 1000 hours on June 21, he said.
DTC buses will also not ply in the restricted area during the same period and will terminate outside the restricted area.
The residents of restricted area will be permitted inside but only after proper verification.
The traffic will be allowed to follow separate corridors for cross movement across the city.
The North-South corridor on Ring Road- Ashram Chowk - Sarai Kale Khan - IP Flyover - Rajghat - Ring Road.
From Aurobindo Chowk to Safdarjung Road - Kamaal Ata Turk Marg - Kautilya Marg - Sardar Patel Marg - Mother Teresa Crescent - roundabout RML - Baba Kharak Singh Marg and beyond.
The East- West corridor: Ring Road-Bhairon Road- Mathura Road - Lodhi Road - Aurbindo Marg- Safdarjung Road - Kautilya Marg - Sardar Patel Marg -Mother Teresa Crescent- Park Street - Shankar Road - Ring Road.
For New Delhi railway station from South Delhi- Mother Teresa Crescent - RML Hospital-Baba Kharak Singh Marg-Outer Circus Connaught Place-Chelmsford Road for Paharganj side or Minto Road- Bhavbhuti Marg for Ajmeri Gate.
For Old Delhi railway station from South Delhi- Ring Road- Ashram Chowk- Sarai Kale Khan-Ring Road-Rajghat- Chatta Rail.
The roads leading to RML Hospital and New Delhi Railway Station will not be affected by the traffic arrangements, he said.
