Train engine develops snag, service affected

Train services were affected for about three hours this evening in Jalpaiguri district after the engine of a passenger train developed snag near Odlabari, said Area Manager, New Jalpaiguri, Partha Pratim Seal.
The engine of Alipurdurar-NJP passenger train developed a problem on Ghish bridge near Odlabari at about 6 PM.
Following which the New Delhi-Alipurduar Mahananda Express and Sealdah-Alipurduar Kanchankanya Express were held up at New Mal station while an Intercity Express was stranded at Sevak station, Seal said.
A new engine brought from NJP was fitted to the passenger train following which it proceeded to its destination at about 9 PM.

The other stranded also started moving after this, he said.
