This proposition has been included in proposals for 12th five year plan and the approval is under process, Jaiswal said in a statement here.
Jaiswal, who is a MP from Kanpur, said that he met Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Manish Tewari and had also written a letter to him, insisting on increasing the current capacity of the transmitter used for FM rainbow here, from 1 Kilowatt to 10 Kilowatt.
Jaiswal has expressed hope that during the 12th Five Year plan, the transmission capacity of All India Radio (AIR), Kanpur will be considerably improved and the people residing in the distant rural areas will also be able to listen to the programmes.
