Transporters welcome scrapping of escorts fee in Maharashtra

The All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) today welcomed Maharashtra government's decision to abolish escort fees in the state from midnight of August 15.
"The All India Motor Transport Congress welcomes the decision to remove escort fees," AIMTC president Bhim Wadhwa said in a statement here.
Urban development ministry has issued orders to 24 municipal corporations out of the total 27 municipal corporations in the state to stop collection of escorts fees, the statement said.
The orders for Solapur, Dhule and Malegaon corporations are pending for completion of some formalities, it added.
