The officer from Karachi Immigration, who is Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) witness, presented Hamad Hasan's travel history before the court that is hearing the trail against the seven accused in the Mumbai case.
He said Ansari travelled to Pakistan in the name of Hasan before the Mumbai attacks. The witness presented evidence before the court after which defence lawyers crossed examined him, sources told PTI.
The anti-terrorism court adjourned the hearing till February 19.
Seven accused are facing trial in connection with the Mumbai attacks case.
Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operations commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, Abdul Wajid, Mazhar Iqbal, Sadiq, Shahid Jameel Riaz, Jamil Ahmed and Younas Anjum were arrested in 2009 for their alleged role in the attacks in which 166 people were killed and over 300 injured.
They have been charged with planning, financing and executing the attacks.
Ansari was alleged to have made a map of target locations in Mumbai. He was acquitted in the case on the benefit of doubt.
Ansari had obtained a Pakistani passport on November 1, 2007 by using forged documents. The passport was seized from him after his arrest in Uttar Pradesh in another case on February 10, 2008.
