Trilux Lighting India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Arnsberg-headquartered firm, is looking to contribute at least 10 per cent of the parent's global revenue from India in the next five years.
"We are seriously looking to invest in India. We would be investing a minimum Rs 100 crore by 2016," Trilux Lighting India Director and CEO Gulshan Aghi told PTI.
He said the company is also working on having its own production unit in India, either by setting up its own facility or through acquisition.
Stating that the company is scouting for a location, he said talks were on with various state governments, and investment depends on benefits offered such as tax incentives.
Trilux, which primarily deals in interior and exterior lighting, besides medical supply systems and electronics, had a sales figure of Rs 24 crore in 2014.
"We have plans to cross Rs 100 crore in sales by 2017. Post investment and plant, we are aiming to be around Rs 700 crore by the end of 2020. At that time, we are expecting that the Indian unit would contribute around 10 per cent of the global sales of Trilux group," Aghi said.
"It's a very high potential area for us," Aghi said.
Trilux had entered India in 2005 through a distributor and had implemented lighting contracts of the Commonwealth Games village.
Started in 1912, Trilux group had a turnover of 515 million euro in 2013 and is among the top three brands in Europe in the professional lighting segment. It sells products in over 50 countries through 26 subsidiaries and 50 partners and employs more than 5,500 people worldwide.
