"The first pre-condition of any IT hub is the high-speed internet connectivity which Tripura is going to get as the state is being connected with Bangladesh through submarine cable," C Subramanya, Chief Technology Officer of Hinduja Global Solutions Limited told an Information Technology conclave here yesterday.
Governor Tathagata Roy, who inaugurated the conclave, said the state had potential human resources to make it an IT hub, but building of infrastructure was necessary.
Tu Fu-Han, Director of Taipei World Trade Centre, said Taiwan was a small state having dearth of resources, but could make a global presence in the IT industry and electronic products.
Among others, Chief Secretary Y P Singh also spoke in the function and stressed the need for better economic and trade relation with Bangladesh, which has 856 km long international border with Tripura.
