The ruling TRS and opposition BJP traded barbs at each other Saturday as campaigning for the April 11 Lok Sabha elections in Telangana is set to end in the next few days.
State BJP president K Laxman reminded TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar of his 'unfulfiled' promises like making a Dalit the CM and to restrict himself to state politics, while TRS working president K Rama Rao accused the saffron party of remembering Hindutva only during elections.
"You (Chandrasekhar Rao) said (you will make) a Dalit as Chief Minister. It did not happen. You said water to every household...it did not come.
You said you would not go anywhere and take care of Telangana. But now you are askingpeople whether you should go to national politics," Laxman told reporters.
Rama Rao, speaking at a road show in Hyderabad, alleged that BJP remembered Hindutva only during elections.
The NDA government has done no good to Telangana, Rama Rao, son of the Chief Minister, alleged.
The TRS and BJP have been engaged in a war of words with the TRS president hitting out at BJP (during election campaign), that religious issues should be addressed by religious leaders and not political leaders.
He said he is also a Hindu and had performed several 'Yagnas'
