It rained donations for the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti at its plenary today with over Rs 20 crore"being received"from"party leaders.
Khammam Lok Sabha member P Srinivas Reddy topped the donors list by offering Rs two crore to the party.
Reddy was originally elected on a YSR Congress ticket and later switched loyalties and joined the ruling party.
TRS Lok Sabha members Malla Reddy and Konda Vishweshrwar Reddy, MLA Mari Janardhan Reddy, MLC Bhanu Prasad, former MP G Vivek and party leaders Marri Rajasekhar Reddy and Vijayender Reddy also donated one crore each, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said, revealing the financial position of the party.
"Total donations we received today Rs 20.41 crore. Earlier we had balance of Rs 21.67 crore with the party. The total balance now in the party's account is Rs 42.08 crore.All these donations were received through cheques only," he said.
The Chief Minister said this information would be sent to the Income Tax Department and also the Election Commission of India officially,
