'Trump's proposed healthcare would hurt working class'

Provisions of the new healthcare bill being proposed by Donald Trump led-Republican party will "hurt" the working class, with thousands of people losing access to affordable medical care, a top Indian-American think-tank expert close to the Democratic party has alleged.
"Donald Trump promised working class people, and they relied on it, they would keep it. Now, (Hose of Representative Speaker) Paul Ryan put forward a bill that hurts them and he might have to change," Neera Tanden, head of Center for American Progress, a Washington DC-based liberal think-tank, told 'Fox News Sunday'.
One of the key election promise, the Republicans have initiated move to repeal and replace Affordable Health Care Act, a signature healthcare initiative of the former US President Barack Obama.

"People had coverage that they will lose," Tanden said.
The Democrats are vehemently opposing the proposed bill Paul Ryan, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, exuded confidence that the Obamacare would be repealed and replaced soon.
"The reason I feel very good where we are, we all Republicans in the House, Senate, and the president, made a promise to the American people that we would repeal and replace this faulty collapsing law, and we're going to make good on that promise," Ryan said.

At the same time Ryan acknowledged that some changes in the bill are being proposed based on the feedback received.

The House Democratic Leader, Nancy Pelosi, hoped that instead the Republicans would work towards the implementation of the Affordable care Act or Obamacare.
"We can work with them to do that, but what they have put forth is a terrible bill, 24 million people kicked off of health insurance, which the speaker calls an act of mercy," Pelosi told CBSs' 'Face the Nation' in an interview.
Pelosi named the replacement of Obamacare as Trumpcare.
"I think it is Trumpcare. The fact is this. This president really either doesn't know or doesn't care about what is in the affordable health care. The affordable health care's purpose was to lower costs, expand access, and improve benefits. It has succeeded in all three," she said.

"So, when he talk about his bill, imagine a bill that takes 24 million people out of health insurance, gives the biggest transfer of wealth in our country's history, USD 600 billion taken from working-class families in our country, middle-class and those who aspire to it, to the top one per cent. USD 600 billion, Robin Hood in reverse," Pelosi said.
