Enraged over the incident, villagers tonsured the accused, Bijay Kumar Panda (25) before handing him over to police yesterday.
"We have seized the cell phone of the accused, through which he captured the photographs of the girl student at a picnic some months ago", said Inspector-in-charge, Dharakote police station, Biswaranjan Nayak.
Panda then allegedly circulated a morphed photo on the social networking sites which showed both posing at their wedding reception.
In the FIR, the father alleged Panda that he did this after the class X girl turned down his marriage proposal recently.
