Anand, who is quite excited about his upcoming film 'Ship of Theseus', wrote dialogues for the first few episodes of popular show 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' and wrote the screenplay of 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii'. Both were the longest running shows on television.
"Television has become regressive. It has gone behind and back in time. I think TV was far better in 80s than today. It is a great medium but under utilised. I don't follow TV much," Anand told PTI.
Anand is also not in touch with Ekta Kapoor, who produced these daily soaps.
Anand became a part of small screen at the age of 18 and he is open to be back again.
"I would love to come back to TV but it will be something unusual, different but intelligent," he said.
It is scheduled to release in India on July 19.
